The eerie story of the musical The Phantom of the Opera is based on the novel of the same name by Gaston Leroux and is set in the heart of the Paris Opera House. When young dancer Christine Daae becomes the object of the Phantom's secret affection, he manipulates her career at the expense and to the horror of the staff and stars of the Opera House.
